water, shoots mostly <10cm and stiffer; leaves <3mm long….5; 5B Plants on
dry rocks, tree trunks, tree bases, rotten logs or stumps….8; 8B Plants small,

substrate, plants on rocks, rotting logs, and tree bark (commonly near base of
tree)…..13; 13B Plants appear less orderly, branches running in various
directions, leave upon wetting spreading at least 45°….14; 14A Leaves 0.5-1.1mm
long, tips can curve off to the side but generally straight, branches somewhat
flattened…. Pylaisiadelpha tenuirstris p. 227

I don't think this one is properly identified because you are keying it out as if leaves are <2mm long whcih they do not appear to be. It also isn't clear that the leaves open up when wet.
ReplyDeleteOverall, you have a nice collection. I didn't see any slime mold or algae which was required so that representatives from all 5 major groups were represented (algae, bryophytes, fungi, lichen, slime mold). Most of your pictures were good but I had trouble determining where some erros might have occured with the keys because you didn't explain the not as above steps. Nice job though with most samples!
